Romans 1:25

“For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”

It hits me harder, and deeper when I think of sin in this manner. Literally, exchanging the LORD’S truth for a lie. For a moment of pleasure, that inevitably ends up damaging and hurting yourself. When God’s love and truth will only build us up and hold us upright.

At church on Sunday, Pastor Mark Driscoll reminded us that “it’s not you living a life for God; it’s God living a life through you, by love.” By His grace, He choses to live through us in love, and gives us the “power of [Him] for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16).

I want to create a living space for God that is more beautiful and glorifying to Him than ever before. I pray against a legalistic mind that is so easy to fall into, even for those of us who know him. Romans 1:21 says, “For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”
